January 2008
After our Winter Break, it is not unusual for parents
and students to begin dreading the EOG tests that inevitably come around
in May. Our teachers work
diligently to see that our students are prepared for testing, but in a way
that does not place unwanted stress on our students.
If you feel your child may need extra help in preparing for EOC
testing, you may want to consider enrollment in our
Learning
Center
. The
Learning
Center
is provided for students who did not pass last year’s EOG testing in
either reading and/or math. The
Center provides free tutorial Monday through Thursday from 2:15 – 5:15.
Students receive extra help in both reading and math and also have
time to complete homework assignments.
There are still a few seats available in the
Leaning
Center
. Stop by the front office to
pick up an enrollment sheet.
Congratulations to all students that participated in our Winter
Concert. It was a huge success
and the new location of Williams Auditorium at
Winston-Salem
State
made the event even more special. The
addition of Orff instruments allowed a portion of our General Music
students to also participate in the concert.
Our Spring Concert is scheduled for May 6 at the Williams
Auditorium. Please mark your
calendar for what should be a celebration of our students’ talent and
hard work.
